Anthropic launched Claude Haiku 5.5 at $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens for prompts up to 100,000 tokens on October 7. Above that prompt threshold, the listed rates rise to $0.50 input and $2.50 output; Anthropic’s roughly 75% average running-cost reduction versus Haiku 4.5 is a vendor estimate that also accounts for changed token consumption. The same announcement halves Sonnet 5.5 cache reads from $0.20 to $0.10 per million tokens, changing the tariff used in our earlier short-prompt cache analysis. Operators should reprice their actual prompt-length mix and measure accepted work before projecting the headline saving.
