Google pulls Earth AI editor after one day

Google rolled back Nano Banana 2 image generation in Google Earth one day after launch, saying screenshots of generated imagery appeared to violate its policies. Google’s updated launch post says the company will build stronger guardrails; generated pictures were watermarked and never entered the shared Earth view, but the reversal still came within 24 hours. For builders, the episode reinforces the cost of treating sandbox boundaries as a product detail: put provenance and abuse tests ahead of broad release when generation borrows the authority of real-world data.
