Google models a AU$240B Australian AI dividend

Google says AI adoption could add AU$240 billion to Australia’s economy through 2035, according to a commissioned study that models annual labour-productivity growth rising to 1.6%. The Google Australia announcement also projects 23,000 additional homes a year from faster approvals, while Public First’s underlying report estimates 240,000 new AI-sector jobs by 2035. Operators should file these as vendor-sponsored scenarios, not realized returns—the useful benchmark for AI’s evolving labour-policy argument is whether measured productivity and deployment costs begin converging on the model.
