Reddit's four-defendant scraping case survives

Reddit’s case against Perplexity and three data-scraping companies largely survived dismissal in Manhattan federal court. Law360’s July 31 ruling report says the judge mostly let Reddit pursue allegations that SerpApi scraped its content for sale to Perplexity; the four-defendant case also names Oxylabs and AWMProxy. For publishers weighing the small licensing upside against Reddit’s dependence on AI-search referrals, the ruling keeps technical access controls and contract terms worth funding even before a court decides the merits.
