Pippa pays four artists half a cent per image

Pippa has about 800 paying subscribers but licensing agreements with only four artists, paying each $0.005 per generated image or $0.003 per second of video made in that artist’s style. The Verge’s report on the animation service says subscriptions cost $14.99 to $99.99 a month and four more artists are in talks; the company’s published royalty schedule adds a 5% subscription-revenue pool, yet its stack still starts from open models trained on broader scraped material. For creative-AI buyers, the tiny licensed catalog makes the royalty system a useful provenance experiment rather than a clean-data moat—an economic constraint already visible in FLUX 3’s gated video strategy.
