Vercel gives AI Gateway two capability filters

Vercel AI SDK 7.0.48 gives AI Gateway two model-capability filters by adding vision beside implicit-caching. The August 2 release can now restrict an image-bearing request to models that accept image input, while the implementation makes the request fail when no eligible provider model exists. For teams building the model-routing layer described in Microsoft’s model-choice economy, that small constraint removes one silent failure mode: a fallback cannot win on price or availability if it cannot read the payload.
