Assail signs a five-year $4.125M security deal

Assail signed Qanapi to a five-year, $4.125 million cross-platform contract that puts its Reaper autonomous red-teaming system inside Qanapi’s FedRAMP High, DoD IL4-aligned cloud, according to the companies’ deal announcement. Reaper will continuously test infrastructure, draft compliance remediation plans, retest findings, and generate patches for human review, while Assail will deploy Qanapi’s post-quantum Karst stack in its own environment. Security operators should note the architecture, not just the contract: like Microsoft’s case for routing cyber work by risk and model size, autonomous defense is moving toward bounded execution where models and findings remain inside the customer’s authorization perimeter.
