Bending Spoons buys Airtable for $1.28B
Bending Spoons agreed to buy Airtable for $1.28 billion in cash, even as Airtable’s annual recurring revenue reached roughly $480 million in June after growing more than 20% year over year. TechCrunch’s report on the announced deal says Airtable serves more than 500,000 organizations and entered agent orchestration this year with Superagent, but the purchase price remains far below its 2021 valuation above $11 billion. For teams building on low-code workspaces, the discount reinforces the case for portable automation rather than platform dependence: ownership changes can reshape roadmaps faster than an agent layer can erase switching costs.
