Anthropic signs a $10B Volta compute deal
Anthropic reportedly signed a $10 billion, six-year compute agreement with Volta Infra for a 133-megawatt data center in Norway. TechCrunch reports that Bitdeer will help develop the Vera Rubin-powered facility, while investor a16z confirms Volta assembled the $10 billion deployment without a hyperscaler or Nvidia backstop. Following Anthropic’s earlier move to rent warm capacity from SpaceX, operators should file this as another sign that frontier-model supply now depends on project-finance competence as much as chip access.
