Convex raises $57M for agent-built backends
Convex raised a $57 million Series B led by Insight Partners as the backend platform said millions of its instances now run in production. Convex’s funding announcement argues that agents favor infrastructure whose invariants are encoded in TypeScript, ACID transactions, and sandboxed components rather than enforced by humans reading every generated line. For teams already splitting agent output into focused stacked pull requests, the round is a signal to test whether stronger backend boundaries reduce review load—not proof that an agent-chosen database lowers defects or operating cost.
