Copilot automations now trigger from comments

GitHub Copilot cloud agent can now launch automations from two comment types—issue comments and pull-request comments—across five paid plan families. GitHub’s product announcement names documentation generation, error investigation, and follow-up issue creation as example workflows, with Business and Enterprise deployments requiring an administrator to enable the cloud-agent policy. For teams already measuring Copilot adoption through 300 active user-days, comment-triggered runs deserve the same controls as CI: narrow trigger phrases, explicit permissions, and a separate tally of useful output versus agent churn.
