Databricks gateway passes one quadrillion tokens

Databricks made Unity AI Gateway generally available after more than one quadrillion tokens passed through it in the past year. The control plane attributes costs, enforces budgets and runtime policies, and governs models, agents, MCP servers, skills, and tools; Databricks says thousands of customers already use it, while one customer reports more than 100 billion tokens a month. Operators comparing the product with independent AI-gateway economics should test policy coverage and routing savings against the lock-in created by placing traffic and governance in Unity Catalog.
