GitHub gives Spark users 27 days to export

GitHub stopped accepting new Spark users and new app creation on August 4, leaving existing builders 27 days to export editable code before access ends August 31. GitHub’s deprecation notice says deployed apps will keep running, but apps calling llm() must replace the retired GitHub Models service with another inference provider, API key, and billing account. After GitHub’s stacked-pull-request preview made agent output easier to review, Spark’s exit is another signal that the company wants AI building inside Copilot’s IDE, CLI, and cloud-agent workflow rather than a separate prompt-to-app surface; operators should export now and inventory every llm() dependency.
