China makes 56% of optical modules
Chinese suppliers will account for about 56% of global optical-module manufacturing capacity in 2026, according to TrendForce’s supply-chain estimate, while three export-oriented Chinese vendors alone represent roughly 46%. The concentration adds optics to the supply constraints cataloged in the analysis of Eliyan’s interconnect bet: operators planning AI clusters should qualify non-China assembly and component paths before any FCC restriction turns a compliance review into longer lead times.
