Akamai lands a $600M robotics cloud contract
Akamai signed a new U.S. technology customer to a more than $600 million, four-year cloud-infrastructure contract for robotics development. In its second-quarter results, Akamai said Cloud Infrastructure Services revenue rose 39% year over year to $99 million and its year-to-date multiyear CIS contracts now exceed $2.8 billion. Operators watching neocloud economics strain under capital intensity should file away the demand signal, but not confuse four-year committed value with quarterly revenue: distributed cloud is winning large AI workloads before it has reached hyperscaler scale.
