GitHub pauses Kimi K3 during its Copilot rollout

GitHub began rolling Kimi K3 out to 10 Copilot surfaces, then temporarily paused the rollout while it mitigates an incident with GitHub Actions. The dated editor’s note on GitHub’s changelog says usage pricing will be $3 per million input tokens, $15 per million output tokens, and $0.30 per million cached input tokens; Business and Enterprise administrators must opt in once rollout resumes. Teams attracted by Kimi K3’s open-weight price-performance case should keep it out of production model policies until GitHub removes the pause and documents the incident boundary.
