Smart IOPS targets one billion random IOPS

Smart IOPS and H3 Platform are targeting one billion random-read IOPS in an air-cooled appliance that combines 20 flash devices with four Nvidia RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs. Their preliminary system specification assigns up to 50 million IOPS to each PCIe 6.0 device and schedules evaluation systems for Q1 2027, with production in Q2; actual performance, software readiness, and Nvidia validation remain open. Infrastructure teams evaluating flash as a second tier beside accelerator memory should treat the figure as a lab target, but note the architectural direction: GPU-initiated storage is moving from papers toward testable hardware.
