Cloudflare Kitesurf uses 7x less memory

Cloudflare launched Kitesurf, a 12-week-old browser for AI agents whose HTML extraction used 39.4 MiB on a 14-URL test corpus, versus 273.7 MiB for warm-pool Chromium—7x less memory—while passing more than 215,000 web-platform tests. It is free during the Browser Run beta and trades speed and compatibility for lower resource use: Cloudflare measured extraction at 820 milliseconds, 1.7x slower than Chromium, and says video, WebGL, bot-challenge handshakes, and long authenticated sessions remain unsupported. Builders should benchmark their own task corpus before moving browser workloads, extending the case for fixing agent-browser infrastructure before buying a stronger model.
