Goldman puts 2026 AI investment near $1T
Goldman Sachs Research estimates 2026 AI investment at roughly $1 trillion globally, including just under $600 billion in the United States. Its three-method investment estimate puts US AI capex at 1.8% of GDP this year, rising to 2.8% in 2028, while explicitly warning that company disclosures require hard-to-verify assumptions and may still double-count some leases. Against Alphabet’s $811 billion infrastructure commitment, operators should treat the trillion-dollar figure as a triangulated scale marker—not a clean census—when pricing future compute abundance.
