Snowflake puts three AI objects inside Native Apps

Snowflake made three AI object types generally available inside Native Apps: Cortex Agents, Snowflake-managed MCP servers, and MCP servers hosted on Snowpark Container Services. Its August 7 release note also opens agent-to-agent and agent-to-MCP calls across apps, while its security model requires consumer privileges and caller grants before app agents can reach customer-owned objects. For operators following Snowflake’s bid to own the agent control plane, the useful signal is that governed agent interoperability has moved from gateway promise into the installable application surface.
