xAI lets Image 2.0 combine five references

xAI’s Imagine Image 2.0 can combine up to 5 input images in one multi-reference generation, alongside region editing, segmentation, background removal, and smart resize. xAI’s launch announcement says the model is generally available as Quality Mode on Grok’s web, iOS, and Android products, but its API is still “coming soon.” Creative-tool builders should treat the release as evidence of a richer editing surface—not an integration option yet—and keep provenance controls in view after Google Earth pulled generation from an authoritative image product in under 48 hours.
