ElectronX opens 60% of US load to brokered hedging

ElectronX won approval for futures-broker access to hourly contracts spanning grids that represent nearly 60% of U.S. electricity load, after July volume exceeded 37,000 contracts and 37 GWh. The company says its amended CFTC designation will add Futures Commission Merchant access this fall across ERCOT, PJM, MISO, and CAISO, moving short-horizon power hedging into workflows more institutions already use. Data-center operators should file this as a risk-management rail, not new generation: it can price hourly exposure, while the physical interconnection and project-proof constraints in Texas’s 474-GW data-center queue audit remain untouched.
