Intel seeks $15B as AI demand pulls on its fabs
Intel proposed a $15 billion common-stock offering, with an underwriter option that could add $2.25 billion, as it points to AI compute demand and opportunities in purpose-built silicon, advanced packaging, and external wafers. The company says proceeds may fund capital expenditures and working capital, but it does not allocate the money to specific fabs or process milestones. Hardware buyers should treat the financing as runway rather than capacity: demand milestone-backed delivery terms and preserve silicon optionality, the same discipline urged in our look at Nvidia’s expanding full-stack chip strategy.
