OVHcloud warns of 87% server hikes

OVHcloud says some server prices will rise by as much as 87% in September after the provider’s memory costs climbed in the year to June and are expected to reach 12× next year. The Register’s report says newer servers will rise 40–59%, while the company blames hyperscale AI buying for the squeeze and expects the disruption to last through 2028. For teams budgeting inference or general compute, this is an infrastructure-price warning rather than a reason to panic-buy: compare reserved capacity against the archive’s recent HBM supply analysis and model memory, storage, and IP as separate escalation risks.
