Form Energy raises $750M for 100-hour batteries

Form Energy raised $750 million to expand production of its 100-hour iron-air batteries, TechCrunch reports. The company’s Crusoe agreement reserves 12 gigawatt-hours of storage for AI data centers starting in 2027, a sign that power procurement is widening beyond turbines, substations, and GPUs. Builders planning dense compute should compare long-duration storage with the premium attached to on-site data-center power before treating grid interconnection as the only schedule risk.
