Silicon Data raises $30.5M for compute indices
Silicon Data has closed a $30.5 million Series A to expand independent pricing and performance benchmarks for AI compute, including nine financial-grade indices covering GPUs and language models. In its funding announcement, the company says CME Group plans to use its benchmarks for a cash-settled GPU-futures market, pending regulatory approval, and that it has more than 1,000 registered users. Builders should file this as a sign that GPU capacity is becoming a hedgeable input rather than an opaque cloud bill, alongside the capital stack behind AI factories.
