Writer cuts agent task costs 52%
Writer says its new Palmyra X6 and upgraded WRITER Agent cut average agent task cost 52% and improve speed 48%, while the model can run unattended on one goal for up to 8 hours. The August 13 launch post lists $2 per million input tokens and $8 per million output tokens, plus admin alerts and hard consumption limits; the 52% result combines the model with Writer’s harness rather than measuring the model alone. Teams studying AI spend control in engineering tools should file this as a governance-and-orchestration benchmark: compare cost per completed workflow, not token price alone.
