August AI seeks $4M healthtech round
Indian health companion startup August AI is reportedly in talks to raise about $4 million from Peak XV Partners, roughly 10 months after a $3 million seed round. Inc42’s report says the product helps users interpret symptoms, prescriptions, medications, and medical reports in more than 30 languages, and previously claimed over 3.5 million active users including 100,000 doctors. Buyers following the evidence gate for clinical AI should treat the financing as a distribution signal, not clinical validation: health companions still need escalation, privacy, and outcome evidence before they become care infrastructure.
