Sivers and SemiNex target AI optics with $3.4M

Sivers Semiconductors and SemiNex launched an approximately $3.4 million program for indium-phosphide light sources aimed at AI data-center interconnects. Their joint announcement targets high-power external lasers, wavelength-multiplexed arrays, and semiconductor optical amplifiers, with customer sampling and early production ramps planned for the second half of 2027. The timeline matters for operators following Lumilens’s optics qualification case: the optical layer is attracting capital now, but the hardware that changes cluster economics still has to survive sampling, qualification, and yield.
