Google Meet takes notes in the room

Google Meet is rolling out “Take notes” for in-person meetings, sending a transcript, structured summary, and action items to a Google Doc after the session. The official Workspace update says the feature is available to Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, Google AI Pro and Ultra, Frontline Plus, and Google AI Pro for Education; Android rollout began August 11, web starts no sooner than August 14, and iOS starts no sooner than August 31. Teams evaluating AI transcription for meeting workflows should treat room audio as a consent, retention, and speaker-attribution decision—not merely a new button to enable.
