ONEOK signs a $100M gas deal for AI power
ONEOK secured a natural-gas supply agreement for 1 gigawatt of power-plant demand requiring more than $100 million in capital, a concrete example of AI data-center growth turning pipeline capacity into infrastructure finance, according to ONEOK’s Q2 earnings summary and the earnings-call record. The company says the project has not reached final investment decision and describes it as a template for additional utility-scale opportunities. Operators following the AI grid bottleneck should treat gas procurement as a parallel compute dependency: the GPU order is not the whole deployment schedule if the electrons still need a plant.
