Qwen models pass 3B downloads worldwide

Alibaba’s Qwen family has passed 3 billion global downloads across more than 460 open-sourced models, according to reporting based on Hugging Face metrics; Google’s comparable total was 418 million and Meta’s 227 million. Alibaba’s Qwen3.8-Max announcement adds the supply-side reason to watch: the newest model has 2.4 trillion total parameters but activates 95 billion through sparse mixture-of-experts routing.
