World Labs turns one robot task into thousands
World Labs says its real-to-sim-to-real system expands one physical robot task into thousands of controlled variations, changing lighting, object configurations, clutter, physics, robot state, and camera viewpoints before policies reach hardware. In the company’s technical report, each checkpoint receives 2,000 simulated trials against 100 real-world trials, and the company says simulation preserved policy rankings and failure regions across hardware; The Decoder’s account adds that several policies ran autonomously for an hour on four robot platforms. Robotics teams should file this as an evaluation-throughput claim, not a deployment guarantee: the scarce evidence remains whether the ranking holds in messy customer environments, extending the archive’s robot simulation analysis.
