Anthropic publishes a 17-skill Claude catalog

Anthropic’s public Claude skills repository now packages 17 capability folders spanning document creation, APIs, web-app testing, design, and spreadsheets, with the repo describing each skill as a self-contained SKILL.md plus optional resources. The company’s Agent Skills explainer says agents preload only each skill’s name and description, then load deeper instructions when a skill triggers. Agent builders should treat this as a portability and context-management signal rather than a finished marketplace: the archive’s skill-retrieval bottleneck still makes discovery and invocation part of the system design.
