Electric Saul brings Gemini advice to Australian homes

Google and Rewiring Australia have launched Electric Saul, a free Gemini Flash-powered tool that uses a household’s postcode, appliances, car and goals to recommend upgrades such as solar, batteries, hot water and EVs. Google’s launch note says the system draws on Rewiring Australia’s research and more than 100 community groups, while the live planner warns that its AI can make mistakes. The useful pattern for builders is not another chatbot: it is a narrow advisor that turns local data and expert rules into a practical sequence, with the disclaimer kept next to the recommendation; the same structure applies to the household economics of electrification and any other high-stakes field-service workflow.
