Wispr raises $280M for voice work
Wispr raised $280 million in Series B funding at a $2 billion valuation and previewed Canto, its first proprietary speech model. Wispr says the round brings total capital to $361 million, Canto cuts word-error rates from more than 30% to 5–10% in difficult conditions, and Flow users have produced more than 60 billion words; TechCrunch’s report says the company is also expanding into meeting notes. The operator signal is not another dictation app but a new accuracy bar for voice as a work interface: teams should measure untouched output in their own noisy, multilingual workflows before treating funding or a sub-10% claim as a reason to switch, much as the archive’s transcription-tool survey distinguishes platform reach from actual workflow fit.
