AWS makes agent payments production-ready
Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Payments is now generally available, letting agents pay for APIs, MCP servers, and web content through Coinbase and Stripe Privy wallets, with a configurable maximum spend and session expiry. AWS’s launch post says the service now supports both x402 and the Machine Payments Protocol, while its developer documentation exposes a catalog of more than 10,000 pay-per-use x402 endpoints. The practical boundary is now less “can an agent pay?” than “what budget, expiry, and audit trail will you give it?”—a payment layer that extends the portable agent procedures pattern into machine-to-machine commerce.
