Kita raises $4.5M for AI credit underwriting

Kita raised a $4.5 million seed round led by BoxGroup to automate document-heavy credit assessment while leaving final lending decisions with human teams. In Kita’s funding announcement, the startup says its system reads more than 50 types of financial, legal, and identity documents, has processed more than $130 million in loan volume, and can turn work that took days to months into under 60 seconds; Y Combinator’s company profile describes the focus on emerging and undertapped markets. Lenders should file this as an underwriting-workflow play, not an autonomous credit oracle: the useful boundary is faster evidence collection with an accountable human decision, alongside the archive’s analysis of AI’s enterprise work layer.
