Samsung raises advanced foundry prices 15%
Samsung reportedly raised prices for new orders on its 4nm and 5nm foundry processes by as much as 15% in July, with U.S. and Chinese customers seeing the steepest increases; Tom’s Hardware’s report says Samsung’s 4nm line in Pyeongtaek has been running at full capacity since late 2025. Samsung held 7% of global foundry revenue in Q1 2026 versus more than 70% for TSMC, yet AI demand is giving the smaller rival pricing leverage while TSMC’s leading-edge capacity is booked. Chip teams tracking HBM capacity moving into U.S. packaging should file the signal: AI scarcity is now repricing the wafer layer, not just GPUs.
