Murf Falcon 2 puts voice latency below 100ms
Murf launched Falcon 2, a text-to-speech model that claims under 100 milliseconds to first audio while keeping pricing at one cent per minute, with support for more than 10,000 concurrent calls, according to its API documentation. Murf says the model supports 150-plus voices across 35-plus languages and that its latency test used more than 1,500 pings, but those performance figures are vendor-reported. Voice-agent builders should benchmark the full turn—not just first audio—against their current provider before treating a cheaper, faster synthesizer as a production switch, much as the archive’s grounded voice-cost analysis treats minutes as a budget rather than a demo metric.
