Apollo breach exposes AI finance's human edge

Apollo Global Management confirmed a cloud data breach in which hackers stole names, birth dates, home addresses, and Social Security numbers after a social-engineering attack between July 6 and 10, according to TechCrunch’s report on the incident. Apollo manages $938 billion and has about 5,000 employees; Google says related extortion campaigns have demanded ransoms as high as $750,000. Operators financing GPU fleets should treat identity security as part of compute risk, not back-office hygiene, a sharper edge on the site’s analysis of debt-backed AI capacity.
