Apple Music will label AI-made tracks
Apple Music will make AI transparency labels visible later this year and require content providers to disclose tracks in which a material portion was generated by AI, according to the reported partner email. The move turns a March back-end disclosure field into a listener-facing signal, as Apple confronts AI uploads that already make up more than a third of new monthly submissions even though actual listening remains below 1 percent. For builders of creative AI, the implication is simple: provenance metadata is becoming distribution plumbing, not optional product polish—an evolution worth tracking alongside the archive’s review of AI music’s consumer economics.
