Apple cuts 200 jobs as Siri shifts to AI
Apple cut more than 200 positions across its Vision Pro, Siri, and Intelligent Systems Experience teams as it shifts personnel toward newer AI efforts and devices, according to TechCrunch’s report on the reshuffle. About 100 cuts came from Vision Pro and another 100 from Siri and software; Apple said it will create new roles even as existing positions disappear. Product teams should file the move as a portfolio signal: Apple is treating smart glasses and an LLM-based Siri as higher-priority bets than immersive video and the old assistant, reinforcing the archive’s case for privacy before Apple’s glasses.
