Broadcom seeks an $80B AI debt package

Broadcom is in talks to raise roughly $70 billion to $80 billion in debt for an AI-chip financing vehicle supporting Anthropic and other AI companies, with sources describing about $45 billion in senior and $35 billion in junior tranches, according to CNBC’s report on the proposed deal. The numbers are fluid, and the structure could reach $100 billion as lenders and asset managers participate. Compute buyers should file this as capital-market infrastructure: the day’s Anthropic IPO analysis shows how model demand is now being financed through special-purpose debt, not just vendor capex.
