AI skills reach 28.5% of cyber job posts

AI skills appeared in 28.5% of G7 cybersecurity job postings in the latest six-month period, up from 14.2% a year earlier, while senior-titled roles grew 65% and junior roles just 5.9%, according to SiliconANGLE’s report on the AI Workforce Consortium data. Security leaders named hands-on AI-agent experience the top entry-level gap, at 49%, and AI-powered defense the most common two-year investment priority, at 36%; the consortium’s official workforce page says its members now target upskilling 130 million people over the next decade. Teams hiring or training analysts should file this as a role redesign signal: practice agent supervision and evidence review, not just tool memorization, as the archive’s cyber-defense analysis argues.
