Nvidia explores a Rebellions tie-up

Nvidia is in preliminary talks with South Korean inference-chip startup Rebellions about a technical partnership, investment, or acquisition, after Jensen Huang met CEO Sunghyun Park, the Mercury News reports. Rebellions has raised roughly $850 million and was last valued near $2.3 billion; its NPUs target the inference workloads that run AI services at scale, not the training clusters that made Nvidia dominant. Chip buyers should file the episode as another sign that the next contest is inference efficiency—and that any attempt to consolidate a Korean strategic asset could face regulatory scrutiny—alongside Nvidia’s agentic chip-design push.
