Outer Biosciences keeps human skin alive for AI
Outer Biosciences says it can keep donated, de-identified human skin viable for up to one month, versus the usual days, and feeds experiments back into an AI model that proposes new cosmetic ingredients, according to TechCrunch’s profile of the company. The startup says AI now produces a candidate roughly every six weeks, with six active leads, after raising about $23 million and building a 19-person team. Scientific-AI builders should file this as a proprietary-data loop—not a drug-discovery proof point—and compare it with the archive’s fast wet-lab validation analysis before treating living tissue as a moat.
