AWS opens a cross-cloud registry standard for agents
AWS is backing Agentic Resource Discovery, an Apache-licensed open specification for federating catalogs of agents, MCP servers, tools, and skills across three kinds of environments—clouds, on-premises systems, and SaaS—according to AWS’s description of the standard. Its Agent Registry adds approval workflows, hybrid search, and two authorization paths—IAM or JWT—while the protocol is designed to let organizations discover globally but keep revocation local. Platform teams should treat discovery as a governance surface—not just a search feature—building on the archive’s earlier look at ARD as an agent search layer.
