GE Vernova moves UPS protection to medium voltage
GE Vernova announced a medium-voltage UPS for AI data centers and other energy-intensive facilities, with first shipments expected in mid-2027 and first-project energization in late 2027. The system is designed to buffer sudden workload-driven demand changes before they reach the grid or onsite generation, while one coordinated medium-voltage system protects larger facility blocks, according to GE Vernova’s announcement. Data-center planners should read it alongside the archive’s $3 trillion capex forecast: power quality is becoming part of the AI-factory architecture, even though this product is not shipping yet.
