Infineon buys C2i for AI data-center power
Infineon agreed to acquire Bangalore-based C2i Semiconductors, whose digital multiphase controllers and system-level power architectures target the fast-changing loads of AI data centers, with financial terms undisclosed, according to the acquisition announcement. The deal adds C2i’s software-defined power management to Infineon’s silicon, silicon-carbide, and gallium-nitride portfolio while expanding an Indian engineering base that already employs about 2,800 people. Builders should file the deal as another sign that AI infrastructure’s bottleneck is moving below the accelerator, into the power-delivery layer covered in the archive’s account of data-center capex.
